Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad

ALWAYS FAMILY FRIENDLY!!

[RETURN TO ATTRACTIONS MENU]

Crossroads Village pictureStep back to the late 1800's and experience life as it was enjoyed more than 100 years ago at Crossroads Village and the Huckelberry Railroad where the past is ever present.

Crossroads Village, with its 35 historic structures, captures a simpler time. Friendly villagers, in period dress, welcome you to their homes, mills and shops. Visit the blacksmith busy at his forge and the printer publishing the latest news. Perplexed by an illness? The doctor's office is dispensing herbal remedies. Visit the early mills, where the power of water turns grain into flour, saws logs into lumber and presses apples into cool, sweet cider.

"All Aboard!" The magnificent Huckleberry Railroad is waiting for you to board one of its 15 historic coaches for a nostalgic 8-mile, 45-minute ride. The Baldwin steam locomotive provides the power to carry more than 400 passengers on its narrow gauge track. So, for a true turn-of-the-century railroad experience, climb aboard the Huckleberry Railroad for fun and excitement for the whole family!

The beautiful Genesee Belle, a paddle wheel riverboat, offers scenic cruises on the unspoiled Mott Lake. The Genesee Belle has an open-air upper deck for unobstructed sightseeing and the lower deck is climate-controlled in the summer and fall. Lunch and dinner cruises are available on selected dates. For more information on lunch and dinner cruises call the Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission at (810) 736-7100 or 800-648-PARK (7275).

Enjoy a lively stage show in the original second-floor Colwell Opera House and for a one-of-a-kind experience, be sure to ride the 1910 Parker Superior Wheel and the beautiful 1912 Parker Carousel. Crossroads Village is the only place in the world that you can experience two C.W. Parker vintage amusement rides. The c.1930, boat-shaped Venetian Swings and the miniature train ride and mechanical pony carts are sure to delight the children.

Crossroads Village is open late May through Labor Day weekend. The village is open Wednesday through Sunday, and holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Crossroads Village is CLOSED ON MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS, except during holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day). Discounted tickets on this "Overnight Pure FunPaks!" website includes Village admission, on any operating day, and a scenic ride on the famous Huckleberry Railroad, a Baldwin steam locomotive, or a paddle wheel riverboat cruise on the beautiful Genesee Belle. Please schedule your train or boat ride upon arrival to the Village. Both the train and boat run several times daily.

The Captain's Club at Woodfield is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Harry Bowers and PGA Touring Professional Raymond Floyd. The golf course offers a mix of open non-parallel fairways, large undulating greens, water and wetlands, while giving golfers the illusion of playing "Up North," which by itself makes a marquee golf course in the Flint community and Michigan.

The Captain's Club at Woodfield offers "all" golfers a challenge and there is a tee for every caliber of golfer. The stunning visual beauty and challenging holes will keep golfers coming back for more! The GPS (Global Positioning Satellite System) on each golf cart will add to your golfing enjoyment by identifying the exact yardage to the pin and hazards.

Woodfield has succesfully combined its pristine 18-hole Raymond Floyd signature golf course with a unique dining experience appropriately named Floyd's. Since the course's opening in 1994, management has striven to create a spectacular menu unlike any other. Floyd's is now fully capable to exceed the hopes of all guests.

Floyd's is the destination for excellent food and exceptional service. Floyd's offers an impressive array of quality dishes, from a freshly tossed cobb salad to tenderly prepared salmon with bourbon glaze. Relaxation beckons as well...
